How it all started ...
Starting out as ‘Jennings Racing’ with 10 Essex based shops in 1995 we have grown to become one of the most widely recognised bookmaking brands in the UK. Jenningsbet has a well won reputation with both its customers and staff.
Our roots go way back to the legalisation of licensed betting offices in 1961 when the Jennings family opened their first shop trading as Harlow Pools Ltd. The business went from strength to strength throughout Essex & the Home Counties in the 1970s and 80s and by the early 90s it owned 32 shops until eventually the business was divided up between the extended family.
In 1995 Greg & Julian Knight with their mother Carole Jennings launched ‘Jennings Racing’ and over the next 25 years the brothers grew it to be the largest independently owned retail betting Company in the country.
Since Julian stepped down in 2021 Greg has taken sole ownership of the business and is as keen as he was back in 1995 to keep up the strategy of growth, investment and innovation.
